Dirty Billy's Hats
Virtually every hat you see on our heads is a Dirty Billy hat. We wouldn't think of going back in time without one!
Banjo Clubhouse
This is a must-see for any one who plays or enjoys early Minstrel banjo. This is a relatively new compilation of information: music from the banjo tutors and audio clips. Be sure to check out the Early Banjo group on Google that is linked here.
Jeff Menzies Banjo Maker: Open Back Tackhead Banjos and Gourd Banjos
In addition to the George Wunderlich Boucher style, and my "mongrel" banjo I also love to play my Jeff Menzies gourd banjo. It's not a replica or reproduction of a historically documented instrument but it surely a traditional instrument. For tone, playability, and tone it can't be beat. you can hear it on two selections from our Shakedown recording at CD Baby: Walk in De Parlor Jig and De Blue Tail Fly.
